Apple TV+ has revealed the full trailer for the upcoming third season of the mystery crime drama Truth Be Told, which is scheduled to make its return on January 20.
The Truth Be Told Season 3 trailer features the return of Octavia Spencer’s Poppy Parnell as she takes on her latest case, which involves several young girls going missing and a lack of mainstream media attention. It also introduces Gabrielle Union’s character, who is a high school principal who’ll help Poppy find the girls.

Based on Kathleen Barber’s debut novel Are You Sleeping, Truth Be Told is an anthology series being led by Oscar winner Octavia Spencer as Poppy Parnell. Joining her are returning cast members Mekhi Phifer, Michael Beach, Ron Cephas Jones, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood, Tami Roman, and Katherine LaNasa.
“In Season 3, Poppy, frustrated by the lack of media attention for several young missing Black girls, teams with an unorthodox principal to keep the victims’ names in the public eye, while chasing down leads to a suspected sex trafficking ring that may have ensnared them,” reads the synopsis.
The series stars Spencer, Union, Mekhi Phifer, David Lyons, Ron Cephas Jones, Merle Dandridge, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood, Mychala Faith Lee, and Tami Roman.
Truth Be Told is written and executive produced by Nichelle Tramble Spellman (The Good Wife), with Maisha Closson serving as the showrunner. It is executive produced by Spencer, Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Mikkel Nørgaard.
