TikTok has certain username requirements that may be preventing you from changing your username. In this video, I walk you through steps you can take to be able to change your username no matter what.
One thing to keep in mind is that the TikTok username has to be completely original and not currently used by any other account. So if TikTok says the username is taken, you will want to add a letter or some more characters to it to make it a new username that’s not taken already.
One other thing you will want to try is to change the day manually on your iPhone or Android to a month from now. This will help you get around the limitation of only being able to change your username once every 30 days. Just change the date and time to a month from now, update your username and change the day and time back to current.
Lastly, you’ll want to make sure you’re following all of the guidelines for usernames on TikTok. Those guidelines, according to TikTok.com are: “Your username can only be changed once every 30 days. Usernames can only contain letters, numbers, underscores, and periods. However, periods can’t be put at the end of the username.”
